This case illustrates several points about breast augmentation. First, this patient has two completely different shaped breasts. The right breast is more round and the left is more conical. After the augmentation the different shapes are maintained but the breasts are simply larger. This occurs with all breast augmentations. Second, she has nipple height asymmetry. The right nipple is higher than the left. Again, after the augmentation the asymmetry is maintained but because the breasts are larger it appears that there is more asymmetry then there really is. Finally, her scars are in the inframammary folds and not on the lower half of the breasts. This is because I make the incisions below the folds. When the implants are placed skin gets pulled up resulting in scars in the folds. Her scars are still hyperpigmented or dark. This is because she is only 3 months from surgery. They will fade nicely over the next 9 months and be virtually imperceptible.
