This case demonstrates a couple of issues. First, the left breast is noticeably smaller than the right breast. To determine the implant sizes we first sized her, in the office, to the right breast. Once she was happy with that size we determined within about two sizes what would be needed on the left. Using sterile sizers in the OR we determined the best implant size for the left breast that created a good volume symmetry. The other issue is the lateral or outward position of the left nipple prior to surgery. It could be moved more toward the sternum or breastbone but she was not unhappy with the appearance. In the end the patient was very happy and that's what matters. Breasts are sisters not twins!
