    This lovely mother of two grown children finally had time to address concerns about her abdomen.  She underwent a standard tummy tuck and liposuction of the flanks.  During her postoperative course she began to develop hypertrophic scarring.  By acting quickly and injecting the scar with steroid the hypertrophy soon resolved.  Hypertrophic scarring is a risk with darker skin colors.  However, by addressing it quickly permanent poor scarring can be averted.
