If you notice this patient has a short vertical scar. This is from the original incision around the belly button. If I had tried to take this hole out she would have been left with significant tension at the middle of the transverse scar. The scar would have been pulled up and been visible as an inverted "U" shape. The vertical scar was revised or removed and restitched because she developed hypertrophic scarring or a raised and thickened scar. It will disappear much better than a scar under tension. We are both happy with the overall result.
